Etch | Suspended Ceiling Light

These geodesic pendants and tea light holders are formed of finely pierced flat metal sheets tabbed together like Victorian tin toys. Using digital acid etching methods, Etch is pattered for the effective filtering of light designed to cast an intricate set of shadows. The collection also features tea infusers.

About

These geodesic pendants and tea light holders are formed of finely pierced flat metal sheets tabbed together like Victorian tin toys. Using digital acid etching methods, Etch is pattered for the effective filtering of light designed to cast an intricate set of shadows. The collection also features tea infusers.

Material

‍Made from brass sheets, on which the pattern of holes is first photo-etched, then dissolved with acid. The brass is lacquered to prevent oxidation. Black and white braid cable, blackened chrome ceiling rose.

About the designer

Tom Dixon

Tom Dixon is an innovative British designer, known as a maverick amongst his peers due to his highly original and extraordinary pieces. He was born in Tunisia in 1959, before moving to England with his family in 1963. After high school, Dixon attended the Chelsea School of Art briefly. Tom Dixon is a self-taught designer who developed his craft after a motorbike accident which made him learn how to weld. In 2002 Tom Dixon opened his eponymous London-based brand, offering top-quality furniture, accessories and lighting. His most famous creations, the Melt pendant light and the Spring pendant lamp showcase his inventive and creative mind.
