Paipaї | Large Settee

Païpaï is a project which unfolded from a simple gesture : folding a piece of paper to create a closed shape. And thus a visibly comfortable cocoon seat is born. The folds mark the foam, shaping its contours and giving emphasis to the armrests, thus creating the identity of the settee, which was named after the Pai-Pai fan which itself has a characteristic rounded shape. The Païpaï collection was designed to offer the best possible seat comfort thanks to the height of the back and the judicious use of high-performance foams.

Material

‍Structure of seat and back in mechanically soldered steel. Structure of armrest in technical fabric for flexibility. A sheet of steel forms the joint between seat and armrest. Suspension of seat and back via elastic webbing.

‍Padding

‍Seat and back in high resilience Bultex foam.  Lumbar cushion filled with goose feathers.

About the designer

Lucidi Pevere

Paolo Lucidi (1974) Luca Pevere (1977) both graduated and professionally trained in Milan. They started to develop their first projects together since 2003. In 2006 they founded their studio Lucidi Pevere. They use unusual technics and aesthetic means to develop new forms of products. Some of the brands are LucidiPevere work with are De Padova, Zanotta, Gebrüder Thonet Vienna, Agape, Ligne Roset, Foscarini, Kristalia, Living Divani, Normann Copenhagen, and many more. Their products appeared in different museums and won major awards such as Designpreis Deutschland, Red Dot Design Award, Good Design Award, Compasso d'Oro Honourable mentions and many others. They took part in various exhibitions in Europe and in the U.S. and appeared in different publications.
